Tasting Note
The nose is intense and complex with aromas of yellow apple, ripe pear, quince and whiffs of ginger and citrus blossom. Flavours of pineapple, melon and passion fruit dominate a medium-bodied, balanced palate with integrated acidity and a smooth mouthfeel. The finish is refreshing and clean and lingers with hints of ginger and lemon curd.
Vineyard & Winemaking
The Vinologist?s journey to discover single-origin Chenin Blanc begins in the Swartland. The terroir is hot, dry and harsh but perfectly suited to make distinctive Chenin Blanc. These select vineyards allow for making textured wines with richness and minerality. The soils enhance apple and lime flavours with balanced natural acidity. Minimal intervention during fermentation with extended lees contact adds further structure and complexity to the wine. This unpretentious, honest Chenin Blanc is a true reflection of the Swartland.
